The Guiaderodas Certification goes international, taking excellence in accessibility to the world
Palo Alto, California – April 23, 2025 – The Guiaderodas Certification, nationally recognized as a benchmark in accessibility and inclusion across Brazil’s largest companies and buildings, is now taking an important step: its work will officially go international.
The announcement of the global expansion was made by partners Bianca and Bruno Mahfuz, who took part as guests at Brazil at Silicon Valley 2025, held in Palo Alto, California. Their presence at the event marks not only the international debut of the certification but also the consolidation of technological and strategic partnerships that will make it possible to scale the brand’s impact beyond Brazil.
Created nine years ago, Guiaderodas grew out of the personal experience of its founder, Bruno Mahfuz, who became a wheelchair user after a road accident in his youth. Direct experience of the challenges of mobility inspired the creation of an innovative solution to transform environments and mindsets, promoting greater autonomy and inclusion.
The initiative’s trajectory is marked by notable recognition. The Guiaderodas app was awarded by the UN as the best inclusive solution, and the organization earned international recognition from GRESB, alongside several other awards for the social impact it has generated. Bruno was named one of the world’s leading innovators by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The Guiaderodas Certification goes beyond a simple technical assessment. Its methodology includes a detailed analysis of physical spaces, the real experience of people with disabilities, training employees toward an accessible attitude, and a leadership commitment to continuous improvement. The result is a living, robust certification, validated by those who genuinely understand everyday barriers.
“Listening here at BSV to the world’s leading technology experts, we are certain that technological innovation is the cornerstone for scaling businesses that generate positive social impact,” said Bruno Mahfuz. “The name stays the same: Guiaderodas is Guiaderodas in any language. Accessibility is universal, and so is our commitment,” he added.
With internationalization, the expectation is to take the methodology to new countries and contexts, broadening the culture of accessibility as something everyone needs. After all, as the Guiaderodas motto puts it: a good idea is good for everyone.
Make accessibility a decision, not a detail
